Forgotten Graves

This seems a fitting start to October – a visit to a forgotten cemetery, where many of the grave stones are broken or missing, and the ones that remain are so faded that they are difficult to read.

I’d say that it was forgotten, but it hasn’t been, at least not entirely.  There are paths through the ground cover, and what remains is kept clean of trash.  People still appear to visit, as I did.

On a sunny afternoon it was peaceful beneath the trees, the sounds of the town muffled.  I was quiet as I took photos, wondering about the people who had been buried there, who they were and what life would have been like for them.
