Chincoteague Sunrise Day 2

Day 2 at Chincoteague, and sunrise on the beach again – because missing it would be sacrilege.  This morning came with some scattered clouds in the sky, which makes for far more dramatic scenes.  As before, I started my walk with the 12-35mm lens, and the natural instinct to capture it all with a wide-angle view.

But after the initial drama, as the sun lifted above the horizon, I switched to the 100-400mm again.  The final two photos in the gallery show those results, the looking far down the beach until the landscape vanishes into the haze, with a rich golden glow.

I make it to the beach once a year, if that, so the time I spend there is always special.  And having photos like these helps get me through weeks of gray sky or winter snow back home!
