An assortment of shorebirds from Chincoteague’s beaches and marshes. The highlight, for me, is below – a blue grosbeak, which was an exciting new addition to my life list, although admittedly it isn’t the greatest photo. The grosbeak was on the move in failing light, and I had less than two minutes with it as it moved between perches before flying deeper into the brush.
A surprising and delightful encounter with a bird that I didn’t even know existed – but now that I do, it will certainly be on the list of subjects that I seek out to work with again, in hopes of capturing a truly good shot!
